The current body of work is a continuation of the themes that have been commonplace throughout my career – memory, history, beauty, and impermanence and where the past and present intersect or entangle.
This specific exhibition I did want to explore a wider realm of historical works. Touching upon, for the first time, paintings by Klimt and Eakins. These pieces were both intriguing and an artistic challenge. For me at the time, these works, though ingrained in similar themes, were much more personal.
The resulting totality of all the works challenges our perception of beauty, memory and mortality, where the “then and now” are locked in a relationship that we, as viewers, must balance.
