Born 1940 in Worthing, UK, Phil Darrah studied painting at the Harrogate School of Art, Yorkshire and at the Slade School of Fine Art, University College, London. He moved to Canada in 1968 to teach with the Department of Art and Design at the University of Alberta. Exhibiting for over 50 years, his commitment to painting is clear in the richness of his ever-evolving visual language. Darrah’s work is featured in numerous public and private collections, in Canada, Hong Kong, Dubai and the UK. Retired from teaching, Darrah currently resides in Mulhurst Bay, Alberta.
